Actor Shiney Ahuja has been granted bail by the Bombay High Court in the rape case against him.
Shiney was granted bail on a surety of Rs 50, 000. He has been in judicial custody for over three months for allegedly raping his 20-year-old domestic help.
Nevertheless, the Bombay High Court imposed restrictions on his movements, saying that he wouldn’t be permitted to stay in Mumbai during the trail. He was instructed to leave the city and surrentder his passport.
According to information, Shiney will stay in Delhi where he will be required to inform the nearest police station about his movements. As per court order, he has to report to the police every week.
The prosecution had on Wednesday argued against Shiney’s bail, saying he was an influential person and could tamper with evidence.
