Shiney Ahuja Sent to Judicial Custody till July 2

Bollywood actor Shiney Ahuja, running charge of raping his domestic aide, has been remanded to judicial custody till July 2 by a local court.

The court sent him judicial custody on prosecution’s plea that they want to investigate whether Ahuja had consumed drugs or was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incidenct.

In its remand application, the prosecution also stated that the medical reports of both the accused and the victim were not yet ready and the blood report of the accused is yet to be taken.

“Shiney is a teetotaller and does not consume drugs. His urine and blood samples have already been taken by the police and thus his custody is not required,” Shivade said.

The prosecution claimed that the actor is not co-operating with the investigation.

However, Shrikant Shivade, defence counsel, argued that the prosecution is asking for the actor’s custody on imaginative proofs.

“Shiney is a teetotaller and does not consume drugs. His urine and blood samples have already been taken by the police and thus his custody is not required,” Shivade said.

Shivade requested not to handcuff Ahuja while being brought from the lockup to the court since he is not a terrorist or a dreaded criminal.

The magistrate asked Ahuja if he had any complaint against the police to which he said “no”.
