SCR Cancels 17 Trains following Floods in Andhra
In the wake of torrential rains and floods disaster in Andhra Pradesh, the South Central Railways (SCR) has cancelled cancelled 17 long-distance and nine passenger trains besides diverting 29 others for Tuesday.
The SCR on Monday also cancelled 18 trains and diverted others, a SCR release said.
The railway tracks are submerged due to torrential rains and waters are overflowing over two bridges between Guntakal and Wadi and Panyam and Nandyal. Consequently, SCR went ahead with cancellation of trains.
The three express trains cancelled are: Yeswanthpur-Bagalkot express, Bagalkot-Yeswanthpur express and Slip coach service between Kacheguda-Hubli VASCO-Kacheguda run by train Kacheguda-Yeshwathpur express.
Vijayawada-Hubli express was cancelled for four days from tomorrow. The trains cancelled for three days from tomorrow were: Hubli-Vijayawada, Howrah-VASCO, VASCO-Howrah, Secunderabad-Yeshwathpur Garibrath express, Yeswanthpur-Secunderabad Garibrath express. .
