SC Slams Mayawati, Says Don’t Play Politics with Court
Sternly rebuking Mayawati, the Supreme Court has asked her to play politics with the court, saying that violation of its order to stop construction at memorials seems to have resulted following instructions from the ‘highest level’.
The court asked senior counsel and Mayawati’s close aide SC Mishra, who appeared for the state: “You tell us who has given the instructions? No Tom, Dick, Harry would have given it. It must have come from the highest level.”
The apex court blamed the state government for being ‘impudent’ by not stopping constrction work on the memorials and said that the affidavit filed by it which denied the construction was a mere ‘eye wash’.
