Saina Nehwal Zooms into Top Five of World Rankings

Top Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal has entered a career-best fifth spot in the top-five of the world rankings after her stunning performance in the All England Badminton Championships earlier this month, reported PTI.

Saina had surprised all and sundry by becoming first Indian woman to qualify for semifinals of the prestigious All England Super Series Championships.

Her previous best on the chart was the sixth spot which she attained last year. However, she was defeated by Tine Rasmussen of the Netherlands in the semi-finals of the event.

Chinese shuttlers dominate the top half of the women’s rankings with Yihan Wang leading the pack followed by Wang Lin, Xin Wang and Jiang Yanjiao respectively.
