Insulting Remarks for Mayawati haunt Sanjay Dutt, Amar Singh

Insulting remarks made against UP Chief Minister Mayawati refuse to haunt actor-turned-politician Sanjay Dutt.

Lately, both Dutt and SP general secretary Amar Singh have been booked for the derogatory remarks against Mayawati at a weekend election rally in Bijnor, some 350 km from Luchnow, said police.

Shirish Chandra, deputy superintendent of police, said that Sanjay Dutt and Amar Singh were booked under section 171 G (false statement in connection with an election in relation to the personal character or conduct of any candidate) for making insulting comments against the chief minister.

According to a BSP leader in Bijnor, in May 3 rally Amar Singh had said, “Maya aur Atalji ka teen baar siyasi nikaah ho chuka hai lekin abhi talaq talaq talaq nahin hua hai (Maya and Atalji have been married politically three times but still haven’t divorced).”

Obviously, the SP leader was hinting at the three alignments between BSP and BJP under leadership of Mayawati and Atal Bihari Vajpayee respectively as a Muslim marriage, which still waits to be ended by the triple talaq.

As for Dutt, despite a complaint filed against him for his “jadoo ki jhappi” and “pappi” remarks, he reportedly repeated the offer of the magical kiss to Mayawati. Two FIRs were registered against him for using “objectionable words”.

The latest case against Dutt and Amar Singh was registered Tuesday late evening, following the directives of district authorities, the police officer said.
