Let’s bring MP in the list of developed state : CM

Bhopal. Madhya Pradesh has to be brought on the top in the list of developed states of the country in next one year. To achieve this goal, people’s representatives and officers should work in a pro-active manner with missionary zeal. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said, while addressing a joint meeting of Ministers and Principal Secretaries on Tuesday. The Chief Minister apprised them of the State Government’s priorities and departmental performance assessment made during quarterly meetings.
At the meeting, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that now scheme-wise reviews will be undertaken at departmental review meetings. Ministers and Principal Secretaries should review departmental works every week. They should adopt zero-tolerance policy in cases of corruption and take immediate action whenever a complaint is received. Attention should be paid to training in every department. Services of management experts should be availed in major projects. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that all the departments should work in coordination with each other. He said that it is a collective responsibility to ensure that benefits of schemes reach real beneficiaries. All the departments should conduct third-party evaluation for knowing ground realities of schemes’ implementation. GIS mapping of all the works should be made so that departments can get real information. They should also pay attention to ideal implementation of Public Service Delivery Guarantee Act.
While enumerating department-wise priorities of the State Government, the Chief Minister said that the Energy Department should expedite feeder separation work so that power can be supplied for 24 hours. Similarly, it will be priority of the Public Works Department that roads remain intact and do not develop potholes during rainy season. Priority for the Water Resources Department will be to ensure that available irrigation potential is utilised optimally. Achievement of 10 percent growth rate in agriculture, fertiliser management in Rabi season and better arrangements for wheat procurement will be the priorities of Agriculture Department. Similarly, establishment of new industrial areas and organisation of Global Investors’ Meet will be priorities for the Industries Department while Technical Education Department’s focus will be on skill development. The Woman & Child Development Department will chalk out schemes for social security and welfare of the poor, eradication of malnutrition while construction of buildings of schools, Anganwadi centres and health centres will be the priorities of concerning departments. State Government’s priorities will also include making employment available to people belonging to scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, backward classes and denotified and nomadic tribes, ensuring better arrangements and availability of medicines in government hospitals, better implementation of rural development schemes, mobilization of additional resources for urban development, extension of tourism areas and efficient implementation of Deendayal Antyodaya Upchar Yojna and Mukhyamantri Bal Hriday Upchar Yojna.
Giving information about departments’ performance, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that among the departments with over Rs. 500 crore budget, top three slots were secured by the Woman & Child Development, Narmada Valley Development and Water Resources departments. Similarly, top three positions among the department with upto Rs. 500 budget were secured by the Minorities Welfare, Animal Husbandry and Tourism Department. Jail, Revenue and Science & Technology departments secured top three positions among the departments with upto Rs. 100 crore budget. Mineral Resources, Transport and Commercial Taxes departments topped in revenue generation. Ministers, the Chief Secretary and Principal Secretaries were present at the meeting.
