Comatose Pravin Mahajan Dies in Thane Hospital

Pravin Mahajan, convicted for the murder of his brother BJP leader Pramod Mahajan, died at a Thane hospital after a prolonged illness on Wednesday. He was admitted to the facility after he complained of high blood pressure in December and later slipped into coma.

According to agencies citing sources close to him, Pravin was on life support and struggling for life but failed to recover at the Jupiter Hospital.

On the morning of April 22, 2006, Pravin shot his elder brother Pramod Mahajan at his Mumbai home, the high profile BJP leader succumbed to bullet wounds on May 3.

On Decdember 18, 2007, a sessions court sentenced Pravin Mahajan to life in prison. He was on parole when he was hospitalised.
