Pilot Killed in MIG-21 Crash
The pilot of a MIG 21 fighter aircraft of Indian Air Force (IAF) was killed when it crashed in Muktsar district of Punjab.
Muktsar Deputy Commissioner Rajat Aggarwal was quoted as saying by PTI that the war plane was on a routine sortie and had taken off from Bhatinda airbase.
The pilot, Flt Lt Manu Akhori was killed on the spot of crash at Bhalianga village situated on Muktsar-Bhatinda road, some 20 kms from Muktsar, he said.
Soon after the incidence, senior officials of IAF, police and from the Muktsar civil administration rushed to the spot.
A court of inquiry has been ordered into the mishap, an IAF spokesman said in New Delhi.
