Government admits atleast four minors raped every day
BHOPAL: In a shocking revelation, Goverment of MP admits that at least four minor girls are raped every day in the state.
When asked about by Congress MLA Tulsi Silawat , the home minister Umashankar Gupta replied that about 3176 minor girls were raped in the state in last two years.
According to National Crime Record Bureau the state has earned the dubious distinction of topping in the rape cases in the country.
The minister said about 3676 cases of rapes were registered and 1383 women/girls were killed in the same period.when asked about the action taken in the cases the minister replied that 11187 accused were arrested and about 293 are still absconding.
The minister said about 6410 cases are pending before courts. A total 1132 accused were acquitted for lack of evidence or other reasons.
