Osmania Student Ends Life over Delay in Formation of Telangana State

Saddened by the delay in creation of Telangana state, another student of Osmania University, the nerve centre of Telangana movement, has committed suicide, reported IANS.

According to report, Sai Kumar, a second year B Tech student, committed suicide by hanging in his hostel room with a suicide note purportedly written by him saying that he was taking the very step as he was upset over the delay.

Police officials said that some hostel inmates saw Kumar hanging from the ceiling fan, who was then taken to hospital where doctors declared him brought dead, said report.

The incident evoked fresh tension in the university campus and scores of students gathered and shouted slogans ‘Jai Telangana’, reports said.

The university authorities have postponed the exams scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday.
