No NSG Commemoration on 26/11

The elite National Security Guard (NSG), which finally brought the 26/11 carnage to its logical conclusion at the cost of two of its men, will not organize any commemorative event to mark the first anniversary of the macabre terror strikes.

According to media reports citing a senior NSG official, the guards will not hold a candle light meeting or a prayer meeting on the occasion. The official said that as an operational and special force the NSG tributes its martyrs on national police commemorative day Oct 21.

A year ago, NSG commandos gunned down eight of the 10 Lashkar-e-Tayyeba terrorists who attacked the commercial capital.

The police killed one and captured another. NSG Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan and commando Gajendra Singh Bisht were martyred in the operation.
