NC Demands Apology from PDP for Depicting Abdullahs as ‘3 Idiots’

For Opposition PDP’s depiction of three generations of the Abdullah family as three idiots on social networking site Facebook, the ruling National Conference has demanded an apology from the party, reported ANI.

Finance minister Abdul Rahim Rather snubbed the PDP for what he termed ‘stooping low in politics’ by making fun of Abdullah dynasty, who three generations, he said, have headed the National Conference party and also the State government for most of its history since 1947 when it became part of the Indian union, said report.

“The utterances of People’s Democratic Party president Mehbooba Mufti are product of an alien mind,” Rather was quoted as saying.

Mehbooba Mufti, however, denied the allegation, said report.

“If anything like that is proved that we are responsible for whatever has been put on the Facebook and we have done it, they (government) have all the powers to take action,” she  was quoted as saying.

It may be mentioned that three generations of the Abdullahs – Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah, Farooq Abdullah and current Chief Minister Omar Abdullah – have been depicted on the Facebook as actors of a popular Bollywood film titled ‘3 Idiots’.
