Narendra Modi Summoned for Interrogation in 2002 Riots Case: Reports

Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi has been issued summon to appear on March 21 before SIT team probing the 2002 riots for interrogation, said media reports citing a TV channel report.

The summon came on a plea by Zakia Jaffrey, widow of late Congress MP Ehsan Jaffrey who was killed in the Gulberg, Society massacre in Ahmedabad on February 28, 2002, report said.

In the carnage, a total of 69 people were killed.

Ms Zakia Jaffrey had filed a 100-page complaint alleging conspiracy against Modi and 62 others, including his Cabinet colleagues.
