Police did calls from Shehla’s mobile phone

BHOPAL: After Shehla Masood murder the city police reportedly tampered with the mobile phone of Shehla that was under its possession after the murder.

Immediately after the murder of the RTI activist, Bhopal police had thoroughly checked the whole car, but failed to detect a gold pendant and a file that were left inside. On Monday, the Bhopal police was embarrassed after the CBI sleuths recovered a gold pendant and a file from Shehla’s car that was in their possession.

Now it has been revealed that the police made four telephone calls from one of the mobile phones of Shehla. Sources pointed out that one call was made on August 16, the day she was murdered, while three calls were made on August 17.

However, the police did not react to these revelations and several attempts to get their version proved futile.

Meanwhile, Aysha Maood, sister of Shehla Masood alleged that “Shehla often mentioned the name of BJP MP Anil Dabe saying she feels threatened from him”.

Quoting Shehla, the US based sister of Shehla alleged that the BJP MP would always try to “malign” her. Talking to a regional channel, she also said that Shehla had filed several RTI applications seeking details of ‘Narmada Samagra’, an NGO run by Anil Dabe. The NGO works for the cleansing of river Narmada and the state government gives lots of work to Dabe’s NGO.

Also on the second day of its investigations, the CBI opened the MP Nagar office of Shehla Masood and recovered a large number of documents. Shehla had been using this office to run her event management company ,’Miracles’. The same office was used by her as an RTI activist. The CBI found a large number of documents supplied by different government departments as reply to the RTI applications filed by Shehla on different issues.
