Chouhan Expands Cabinet, Inducts 10 Ministers

Bhopal  —  Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Wednesday inducted six cabinet ministers and four ministers of state into the state cabinet. The inductees were administered the oath of office and secrecy by Governhor Rameshwar Thakur at a simple Raj Bhawan ceremony.

Several MLAs, MPs and other dignitaries were present at the ceremony that took the size of the BJP state government to 32.

After days of speculation the state BJP leadership finally exercised favour for the six cabinet ministers -Sartaj Singh, Narottam Mishra, Kunwar Vijay Shah, Ajay Vishnoi, Umashankar Gupta and Jai Singh Maravi, and four ministers of state – Brijendra Pratap Singh, Nana Mohod, Mahendra Hardia and Manohar Untwal.

Maravi, however, was not able to make it to the ceremony and is now expected to be sworn in on  Thursday.

Incidentally, four of the six cabinet ministers sworn in on the day – Narottam Mishra, Kunwar Vijay Shah, Ajay Vishnoi and Umashankar Gupta were part of the Shivraj Singh Chouhan cabinet during his first term in office.

Minister of State for Revenue Karan Singh Verma has been upgraded as a Cabinet Minister, he was also administered the oath of office on the occasion.
