Motor Strike Hits Normal Life in Kerala
Normal life across Kerala remained paralysed on Tuesday as private and public transporters stayed off the roiads in response to a Left-backed dawn-to-dusk motor vehicle strike called to press for rollback of a recent hike in fuel prices.
Roads wore a deserted look as buses, trucks, autorickshaws and taxis halted operations for the day.
Schools and colleges remained closed and attendance in government offices and banks was reported to be thin.
All major motor workers, unions including those affiliated to pro-Congress INTUC and BJP, supported the strike, reported PTI news agency.
