Mirwaiz Taken into Custody in Srinagar

Chairman of the moderate Hurriyat Conference Mirwaiz Umer Farooq has been arrested while he was leading a protest march to the UN Military Observer Group headquarters, reported IANS.

He was taken into custody along with his supporters outside the building of Radio Kashmir, report said.

Farooq was proceeding towards Soanwar area to deplore alleged human rights violation in Jammu and Kashmir when he was arrested, said report.
