C’garh’s rich heritage must be brought out: Baghel

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has underlined the need to bring on the world map the natural beauty, tourism, historic and mythological importance of Chhattisgarh.

Taking part in the oath taking ceremony of the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board (CTB), Baghel said Lord Ram spent the maximum period of his 14 years in exile in the state.

Keeping this in view, the government has decided to beautify the Kaushalya temple at Chandrakhuri in Raipur district. The mythological Sheorinarayan is also being developed as a heritage site. Similarly, a 10 sq km area in Sirpur houses the ancient Buddha Vihar which includes Buddha age idols and ruins. This place was of international importance. The world also wants to understand the primitive tribes in the state, and so their places of habitation should be developed as a tourist spot, he said.

The CTB must develop these places and bring them on the world map, he said.
