MBA Graduate Allegedly Gangraped inside Taxi in Pune
In an appalling incident, three persons allegedly gangraped an MBA student inside a hired taxi in Pune on Thursday, said media reports.
Reports said that the incident occurred at 4.30 pm in Wasad area of the city on April 1.
The incident occurred when the victim was going for an interview and hired the taxi, said reports.
The victim, who hails from Nagpur and is married, complained that she was raped by three unknown persons who were travelling in the same taxi, reports said.
An FIR was lodged in Hinjewadi police station against the three accused and two people are detained in this connection, said reports.
Those arrested were dentified as Ranjeet Shahaji Gade and Ganesh Kamle, while the third accused Subhash Heeralal Bhonsle is at large, said reports.
“The victim was standing at the bus stop. The two (Ranjeet Shahaji Gade and Ganesh Kamle) were on their way to perhaps service their cars. When these two saw her standing they offered to drop her. She got in. But soon after the driver and his associate changed their mind,” Deputy Commissioner of Pune Dr Mahesh Patil was quoted as saying.
“They took a detour and picked up another friend (Subhash Heeralal Bhonsle, who is now absconding) and kept roaming around the city from 4 PM to 12 in the night. They collectively threatened the victim to kill her if she tried to alert anyone. Later they took her to open space in Hinjewadi and one by one allegedly raped her in the car,” Patil was quoted as saying.
