Many Injured in Clashes over Fake Encounter in Kashmir

Many people have been injured in clashes that broke out on the Baramullahy-Kupwara highway in Jammu and Kashmir over the alleged fake encounter by the Army, said media reports.

Police resorted to using tear gas to dispel the crowd of protesters assembled on the highway with the bodies of three civilians allegedly killed by the Army, reports said.

Police has registered a case of kidnapping and killing against the Army for an encounter in which three persons were killed on April 30, said reports.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has ordered a magisterial probe into the case.

Reports quoted sources in the Army as saying that they had nothing to hide and would fully cooperate in the probe and anyone found guilt would be punished.
