Maneka Opposes Jaswant Singh’s Expulsion
Senior BJP leader and former union minister Maneka Gandhi has opposed the very step of expulsion taken against senior leader Jaswant Singh over his controversial book: Jinnah-India, Partition, Independence.
“BJP leaders should have read the book on Jinnah written by Jaswant Singh before taking any decision,” she said.
Speaking to media persons in her Parliamentary constituency Aonla, she said that party took the decision to expel Jaswant Singh in a hurry, without going into the details.
The remarks made by Gandhi, a four time MP, is significant keeping in mind that several BJP leaders are coming out in support of the former external affairs minster.
“Jaswant Singh is a nice person and I don’t think why the party didn’t give him a chance to give his clarification on the issue,” she said, adding that such action only weakened the party.
