CM calls for using Gramodyog product

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has called for maximum use of cottage and Gramodyog products. He said that this will not only increase employment in rural areas, but will also help get pure and certified products. Shri Chouhan was distributing Kabir and Vishwakarma Awards at Gauhar Mahal here today.

The Chief Minister said that Kabir and Vishwakarma Awards should be given away in concerning years only. He said that apart from marketing of Gramodyog products, every possible effort should be made to encourage their use. He said that he would himself promote Kabira Brand clothes. At government programmes, only packaged water of Vindhya Valley should be used, he added.

The Chief Minister said that every possible effort is being made to improve livelihoods of craftspersons, artisans and weavers. A policy for weavers will be chalked out by holding their Panchayat. He said that no stone will be left unturned in publicity and propaganda about mesmerizing the world by products of state’s craftspersons, artisans and weavers. When other countries were leading primitive life, use of cotton and cotton clothes had started in India. Indian weavers had weaved a cloth called “Malmal” which used to pass through a finger ring.

Cottage and Gramodyog Minister Sushri Kusum Mahdele said that state government is committed to preserving and promoting folk arts and talents. She said that craftspersons and weavers should continue production at home. Departments is making efforts for sale of their products in country and abroad.

ACS Shri Rakesh Agrawal informed that cooperation of National Institute of Fashion Technology has been sought for designing of Kabira Brand. Information about folk art is also being documented. Information about small industries in the state has been published in book “Virasat”. He informed that latest products of state’s weavers and craftspersons have been displayed at the fair.

At the outset, the guests inaugurated the function by lighting a lamp. Book “Virasat” compiled by Sericulture Department was released. Kabir and Vishwakarma awardees were presented shawls, coconuts and citations. The 10-day exhibition “Srijan” of Village and Gramodyog was inaugurated. Kabira Brand of departments’ khadi clothes, online shopping website and 17 new Vindhya Valley products were also launched on the occasion.
