Laxman, Dhoni Hit Tons as India Extends Lead over SA

After Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman and captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has hit individual tons as India consolidated its position in the second test against South Africa, reported Times of India.

India already has past 3000 runs first innings lead in the test being played at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Laxman scored his 15th Test century, his fourth at Eden Gardens, as he also completed 1000 runs at the same venue. At the same time, Dhoni hit his fourth Test century, his first against South Africa, said report.

Both Dhoni and Laxman have added 200 runs for the seventh wicket, said report.

On Monday, Tendulkar scored his fourth consecutive Test ton, his 47th overall and Virendra Sehwag hit his 19th Test century as India amassed 342 for five in response to South Africa’s first innings total of 296.

India came out of the second session unscathed and were comfortably placed at 548 for six at tea on day three at the Eden Gardens, said report.
