Lalu’s Close Confidante Resigns as RJD MLA

Giving a jolt to the already beleaguered RJD and its chief Lalu Prasad, his close aide and party’s national general secretary Shyam Razak has stepped down from the Bihar Assembly.

A JD(U) spokesman claimed that Razak would join the party in presence of chief minister Nitish Kumar in a day or two.

Razak handed his resignation to secretary of the state assembly Surendra Prasad Sharma, who faxed it to Speaker Udai Narain Choudhary, currently in New Delhi.

Sharma said that the Speaker has accepted the resignation and that now onwards he ceases to be a member of the House.

Razak, considered very close to the former Railway minister, was a three-time member of the state assembly since 1995 and remained a minister for nearly nine years in the Lalu-Rabri government.
