Kishenji Might Be Injured: Reports

Maoist leader Koteshwar Rao, called popularly as Kishenji, has been injured in an encounter with security forces in West Bengal’s Hatilote village, said unconfirmed media reports.

Security forces in Jharkhand, Bihar and Orissa speculate that Kishenji might have been injured in encounter on Thursday or Saturday, said reports.

Intercepts of a telephone conversation between Maoists –  of ‘Dada being hurt’ –  strengthen the above speculation, reports said.

Kishenji is the top Naxal leader in the eastern region of the Red Corridor, known to operate in West Bengal, Orissa and Jharkhand. He is alleged to have planned many Maoists attacks, the latest being that on the Silda Camp.
