Kidnapped Vaishnavi Found Dead, Father Dies of Heart-attack

P Naga Vaishnavi, the 10-year-old school girl, who was abducted in broad daylight in Vijayawada on Saturday, was found murdered brutally on the outskirts of Guntur, while her father Palagani Prabhakar Rao has died of heart attack, reported The Hindu.

Acting on tip-off, Guntur police recovered the girl’s body from the boiler of a foundry located in a remote corner of Autonagar near the Guntur-Vijayawada railway line, said report.

Vaishnavi was kidnapped at Madhuranagar in Vijayawada on Saturday when her abductors killed the driver of the car in which she was travelling and took her away. Her brother, Sai Tejesh (14), who was accompanying her to school, managed to escape.

Police acted on the information provided by Venkata Rao, brother-in-law of Vaishanvi’s father P Prabhakara Rao, who was picked by police in Vijayawada on Monday morning as part of the extensive probe launched to solve the kidnap mystery, said report.

Report said that Venkata confessed that abduction took place at his instance and then blurted out information regarding the location of the foundry.

The foundry is owned by Srinivasa Rao, a cousin of Ms. Venkataramanamma, Guntur SP Shankhabrata Bagchi was quoted as saying while talking to reporters.

In the meanwhile, Vaishnavi’s father Palagani Prabhakar Rao died of heart attack on Tuesday morning at Help Hospital.

Rao went into a state of shock on Monday evening as soon as TV channels began flashing the news that the skeletal remains of his daughter, who was abducted in broad daylight on Saturday morning, were found in a blast furnace in a workshop near Guntur.
He was initially rushed to a heart specialist but was later shifted to Help Hospital for critical care and trauma management. Doctors said that Rao’s blood pressure dropped abysmally low and his heart stopped functioning despite best efforts.
