Khushaboo Entering Politics, to Join DMK
Tamil actress Khushboo is entering politics and will be joining Tamil Nadu’s ruling party DMK, an important constituent of UPA, said media reports.
Quoting sources, reports said that the actress would meet DMK supremo and Tamil Nadu chief minister M Karunanidhi to enroll herself as a primary member of the party, reports said.
Khushboo already held two rounds of discussions with senior DMK leaders and would meet them again, said reports.
The actress expressed her wish to join politics after the Supreme Court dismissed a slew of cases filed against her for her alleged statements on pre-marital sex given in interview to various magazines in 2005.
“I am silently involved in lot of social work including in the areas of HIV/AIDS, transgenders and cancer. But being in politics gives a larger platform and to work better,” she had said.
