India, Russia, China Press for Comprehensive UN Reforms

For making it more effective, foreign ministers of India, Russia and China had pressed for a comprehensive reforms of the United Nations so that it can handle the present global challenges in a better way.

On UN reforms, China, joining Russia, noted that it attaches “importance to the status of India in international affairs” and understands and supports its “aspirations to play a greater role” in the world body.

The foreign ministers of these countries met in Bangalore under the format of Russia-India-China (RIC).

As for climate change, India, Russia and China affirmed their willingness to contribute to the success of the upcoming Copenhagen Conference while maintaining their position of “common but differential responsibilities”.
