In Madhya Pradesh power generation will increase upto 4763 MG

BHOPAL: The State Government of Madhya Pradesh is laying special emphasis on increasing power generation. Programmes for enhancing power generation have been scheduled. Works of under construction project of units are in progress. The Madhya Pradesh Power Generating Company Limited, central area and other have fixed target of 4,763 megawatt generation capacity by 2013-14 in Madhya Pradesh. As per scheduled programme, in the year 2011-12, 2012-13 and 2013-14, 499 megawatt, 2078 megawatt and 2186 megawatt power generation respectively have been chalked out.

Satpura Thermal Power Station Sarni of Madhya Pradesh power generating company limited has proposed an augmentation of 500 megawatt power generation. Under this, works of 250-250 megawatt capacity units 10 and 11 are in progress. These units are expected to commission the works by September 2012 and January 2013 respectively. Shri Singaji Thermal Power Project Khandwa’s two 600-600 megawatt units will start generating power by February and June 2013. Works of these units are in progress.

The first phase of 660-660 megawatt capacity’s three units of Sipat thermal power project of NTPC Limited of central region are expected to function by September 2011, January 2012 and July 2012. Under this project, 282 megawatt power will be supplied to the State. First phase of 500-500 megawatt capacity’s two units of NTPC have been scheduled to start generation from January and July 2013. These units will allot 156 megawatt power to State.

Similarly, 7 and 8 units of Damador valley Corporation, Chanapur of Central area will provide 200 megawatt power to State. These units are scheduled to start generating power from October 2011 and April 2012. Similarly, 1 and 2 units of Damodar Valley Corporation, Durgapur will allot 100 megawatt power to State. These units expected to generate power from April 2012 and October 2012. Besides, 1 and 4 units of Sasan ultra mega power project will start generating power from October 2013. These units will allot 990 megawatt power to State.

The unit number one of M/s Essar set up at Sidhi district will start generating power from January 2012. This unit will allot 195 megawatt power to the State. M/s Bina Power supply company being set up at Bina in Sagar district is expected to generate power from April 2012 and October 2012 from the 1 and 2 units of 250 megawatt capacity. The State government will procure 350 megawatt electricity. M/s Jaiprakash power ventures set at Nigari, Singarauli district will provide 248 megawatt power from its unit number one. The unit is expected to start generation from January 2013. One and 8 units of Maheshwar turbine project in Khargone district is expected to function from April 2012 to January 2013. The State will get 240 megawatt power supply from these units.

In the state the power generation capacity will increase by 4,763 megawatt after above mentioned units start functioning. The generation will help in improving power demand in the State.
