Hizbul Militant Killed in Encounter with Troops in J&K
In an encounter between militants and security forces, a top Hizbul Mujahideen militant was killed and two special police officers were injured in Reasi district on Saturday, said media reports.
According to reports, after receiving tip-off, troops cordoned off an area in Arnaf in the district, located 130 kms from Srinagar, late last night.
As militants opened fire on a party of Rashtriya Rifles troops, they fired in retaliation, said reports.
Police said that a divisional commander of Hizbul Mujahideen outfit Abu Bakr, a Pakistani, was killed in the ensuing encounter and an AK rifle and two grenades were recovered from him, said reports.
In the encounter, two special police officers Ashraf and Murtaza were injured.
