Himanshu Sabharwal’s Friend Stabbed to Death

Himanshu Sabharwal, son of Professor HS Sabharwal, and his friend were assaulted by some unidentified assailants in the North Campus of Delhi University on Thursday night in which his friend was killed, police said on Friday.

Parminder’s body was found with five stab marks in the Maurice Nagar area of the campus by a passer-by. A native of Indore, she worked as an accountant with Himanshu

According to reports, police registered a case on Friday morning and interrogated Himanshu in Maurice Nagar Police Station regarding the murder.

Himanshu Sabharwal is the son of Professor H S Sabharwal who was allegedly beaten to death by ABVP activists in Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh three years ago.

On Thursday, Himanshu and Parminder Singh were pasting posters in the university for a candelight march scheduled to be taken out Sunday for seeking justice in the Sabharwal murder case.

“Himanshu had left Singh at his residence Thursday night and left for his home in Gurgaon,” the officer said.

“We received a call that a body is lying in Maurice Nagar area. He was later identified as Parminder Singh. Himanshu is being interrogated in the case,” the officer said.

A court in Maharashtra had on July 13 had acquitted six students accused of beating to death Prof Sabharwal in Ujjain’s Madhav College in August 2006.
