HC Adjourns Hearing on Sajjan’s Anticipatory Bail Plea in Sikh Riots Case

In 1984 anti-Sikh riots case, the Delhi High Court has adjourned hearing on a plea moved by Congress leader Sajjan Kumar to seek anticipatory bail, reported IANS.

The Congress leader moved the High Court challenging a trial court order rejecting his anticipatory bail.

Report said that Sajjan would appear before a trial court later on Wednesday afternoon and he could be arrested anytime, if required, by the CBI.

Hearing seven bail pleas, Justice SL Bayana stayed the arrest of two of the accused – Brahmanand and Peru, said report.

Report said that court would hear bail plea of other five on Thursday.

Sajjan have moved to High Court on Tuesday apprehending arrest but had been denied an early hearing.

The CBI had filed a chargesheet against Sajjan Kumar and others in two cases related to the 1984 anti-Sikh riots in the national capital.
