Goa Home Minster Describe Sanathan Sanstha as Threat to Nation

Goa Home Minister Ravi Naik have described the Hindu rightwing group Sanathan Sanstha, five of whose associates have been booked in connection with the Diwali-eve blast in Goa, as a threat to the entire nation.

Talking to a local news channel, Naik said: “Their threat is not to Goa alone, but to entire Bharat. They first tried it (conspiracy to explode bombs) in Maharashtra and now they have tried to carry out blasts in many places in Goa.”

It may be mentioned that three Sanatan Sanstha members, an MBA students and an electronic engineer of them, were arrested by the special investigation team (SIT) appointed to investigate the blast.

According to police, the two people who died in the explosion while ferrying detonator-rigged gelatine sticks to a crowded place in Margao, a south Goa town 35 km from Panaji, were also associated with the Sanatan Sanstha.

Naik said that the SIT was moving in the ‘right direction’.

“The SIT is making satisfactory progress. They have been given a free hand and no one is interfering with the investigation,” Naik said.
