Girls Outperform Boys in CBSE X Exams Too

Just like class 12 results, girls have outshined boys in the CBSE Class X examination, result of which were declared on Tuesday. The results cover states of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Union Territory Chandigarh.

According to information, the overall pass percentage for the boys is 88.22 per cent, while girls are ahead at 92.25 per cent.

“The overall pass percentage for Class X for the region is 90.18 per cent. A total of 1,19,014 had appeared in the Class X examination,” CBSE Panchkula-based centre’s Joint Secretary D R Yadava said.

It should be noted that the overall pass percentage for Class X is improved this year over last year’s 89.07 per cent and 2007’s 89.09 per cent.

In the results, the Kendriya Vidyalaya fared pretty very well and received a pass percentage of 96.01 per cent, while Government schools were lagging much behind at 65.30 per cent. Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya and Independent Schools had got a pass percentage of 96.92 per cent and 91.47 per cent, respectively.

In the Class XII examination for the region declared by the CBSE a week back, boys had got an overall pass percentage of 77.56 per cent while the girls had got 86.24 per cent.

Yadava said the result sheets are being despatched to the outstation schools while the schools of Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula can collect them from the CBSE office.
