A dream is coming true now for Ratlam district

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan laid the foundation stone for Government Medical College at village Banjali near Ratlam district headquarters on Wednesday evening. The college will be constructed at a cost of about Rs. 450 crore. Minister of State for Medical Education Shri Mahendra Hardia was also present on the occasion.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that opening of a government medical college was a cherished dream for which foundation stone is being laid today. It was a resolve which is being fulfilled. Shri Chouhan said that earlier, it was intended to set up the college under PPP mode, but good proposals did not come forth. The Chief Minister said that opening of government medical college at Ratlam will benefit people of not only Ratlam but also Ujjain division. He said that students having pursued education in Ratlam medical college will not hesitate in working in rural areas also.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that the medical college will also have a super speciality hospital equipped with facilities to treat all serious diseases. He said that this work will be completed in 2 years and the college will be opened in year 2015-16. Shri Chouhan said that this will be the first medical college in Ujjain division.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister also laid foundation stone for Banjali-Sejawate Bypass costing Rs. 3.25 crore. He also laid foundation stone for Jaora Phatak under-bridge and building of Tribal Boys English Medium School costing Rs. 6 crore 17 lakh and Rs. 1 crore 10 lakh, respectively. The Chief Minister also laid foundation stone for sports complex at Eklavya Residential School.
Former Minister Shri Himmat Kothari, other public representatives, Principal Secretary Medical Education and senior officers were present on the occasion.
