Gadkari Denies Holding Talks with AGP on Seat Sharing

BJP chief Nitin Gadkari has denied holding talks with the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) about continuation of the two parties’ seat sharing understanding, reported PTI.

“No such talks have taken place during my visit with the AGP but we will want the alliance to continue for the ensuing 2011 assembly election in Assam,” Gadkari was quoted as saying while talking to reporters in Guwahati.

Both the BJP and the AGP had an electoral truck in the last assembly and Lok Sabha polls in the state.

“If they (AGP) want (alliance) we are ready. If they don’t then we will fight alone,” the BJP chief was quoted as saying.
