Gadkari Blames UPA for Inflation as BJP Activists Protest in Delhi

In protest against rising prices, thousands of BJP supporters took to streets in New Delhi on Wednesday, with party president Nitin Gadkari holding UPA government responsible for inflation, said media reports.

According to reports, party supporters assembled at Jantar Mantar in large numbers with flags and posters to protest alleged government apathy towards rising prices of essential commodities.

“The party will intensify the fight against UPA on the issue with a gherao of Parliament on Feb 22 when the budget session starts,” BJP president Nitin Gadkari was quoted as saying.

The party president said that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar are responsible for the inflation, said report.

“The government was presiding over a Rs 2.8 lakh crore big scandal by allowing commodity exchange and snatching food from the mouths of poor people,” he was quoted as saying.
