Friday Prayers Peaceful in Hyderabad, Curfew Enters Fourth Day

On fourth consecutive day today, curfew continues in all the 25 police station areas of old Hyderabad, said media reports.

In view of the sensitiveness of Friday prayers, police decided against relaxing curfew anticipating trouble though situation was clam during and after relaxation of curfew for two hours yesterday, reports said.

However, it allowed people to offer prayers at local mosques in some places, said reports.

Prayers went off peacefully today and no untoward incident was reported from any part of the city, reports said.

Reports said that all roads leading to the historic Mecca Masjid were sealed off completely.

Earlier, state police chief R R Girish Kumar called on Majlis Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) leader Asaduddin Owaisi to ensure peaceful Friday prayers, reports said.
