FIR Filed against Unknown Persons Accused of Bees Attack in BSP Rally

An FIR has been filed against unidentified persons accused of disturbing chief minister Mayawati’s rally in Lucknow, said media reports.

Talking to a TV channel, deputy inspector general of police in Lucknow Rajeev Krishna said that bees attacked the BSP rally and the incident was serious as it could have resulted in stampede, said reports.

“There were hundreds and thousands of bees in the rally ground. It is a serious matter, because it could have led to a stampede had the bees attacked the crowd,” Krishna was quoted as saying.

“I have investigated the scene of fire. The extent of spread fire leads us to believe that there is a strong possibility that it was deliberately put on by someone. Taking all these things into consideration, we have filed a case in this matter.”

He said that an opinion had been taken from horticulture expert to find out what caused the bees to attack the rally, though he declined to remark if he suspected a conspiracy, said reports.

Krishna also denied the repots that two people were taken into custody of the bee invasion, reports said.

“Let the investigations get over,” he was quoted as saying.

According to police estimate, nearly 1.5 lakh bees invaded the rally in which Mayawati was speaking to celebrate BSP’s twenty fifth anniversary.
