Dreaded Murderer Arrested in Delhi after Gunfight

After a short gun battle with police personnel, a dreaded criminal who is wanted in half-a-dozen murders in Delhi and abutting regions, was arrested on Wednesday.

A police officer said that Sandeep Chaitanya, carrying a reward of Rs 50, 000 on his head, was nabbed from a house in the thickly inhibited Rohini Sector 25 km in northwest Delhi.

After receiving a tip-off, police team girdled the house number 151, where Chaitanya was hiding.

“As police zeroed in on the criminal, he started firing and cops retaliated. Chaitanya was arrested after a brief exchange of fire,” the officer said.

According to police, Chaitanya was involved in two double murder cases in Delhi and Hisar in Haryana.
