Dinakaran’s SC Promotion on Hold, Reports
Karnataka High Court Chief Justice PD Dinakaran’s promotion as a Supreme Court judge has been deferred after collegium of the country’s highest court received a report on allegations of land-grabbing against him, said media reports on Sunday.
The collegium, which met on Saturday, is believed to have asked Dinakaran to respond to allegations that he had amassed land in Tamil Nadu’s Tiruvallur district, said the attributing the inputs to unnamed sources.
The decision to hold Dinakaran’s promotion was taken on the basis of a report of the Tiruvallur District Collector.
The collegium’s decision will now be communicated to the Ministry of Law.
