Diggy Seeks CBI Probe into Attack on Bahuguna Joshi’s Residence
AICC in-charge for Uttar Pradesh and former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Digvijay Singh on Saturday demanded a CBI probe into the recent attack at UPCC chief Rita Bahuguna Joshi’s residence.
”We are sure that the torching of the house of Rita Bahuguna Joshi was done at the direction of the state Chief Minister and only a CBI probe can reveal the real motive behind the incident,” Singh was quoted as saying by UNI.
Singh, who visited Joshi’s residence with Union Ministers Salman Khurshid and Jitin Prasada on Saturday morning, said: ”If a CBI probe is not ordered by July 31, the party will launch a jail bharo agitation from August 1 and will reveal the real face of the BSP government to the people.”
Meanwhile, Bahuguna Joshi has said that she will not renovate her house, which was set afire by arsonists on July 15, till the CBI is asked to probe the incident.
