Diggy Booked for violating ECC

For allegedly threatening to “use” the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) against Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati, former Madhya Pradesh chief minister and AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh has been booked for violation of the model code of conduct.

“The case against Digvijay Singh was registered Tuesday night on the directions of the district administration,” Hardoi Deputy Superintendent of Police B B Chaurasia said on phone.

It may be mentioned that at a campaign rally Monday in Mallwan locality in Hardoi, about 110 km from here, the Congress election in-charge for UP reportedly said the central government would “use” the CBI against Mayawati if she continued to harass Congress workers.
