Dhoni keep mum on IPL spot fixing scandal

Mumbai: India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni on Tuesday maintained a stoic silence on the spot-fixing scandal that has, among others, also led to the arrest of CSK’s Team principal Gurunath Meiyappan.

Dhoni was also asked why was he keeping mum and skipped two pre-match press conferences during the IPL and also if the spot fixing scandal will have any effect on the players in the Champions Trophy, but he chose to ignore them all.

He also refused to answer when asked if fans can have faith in the Indian team in the Champions Trophy in the midst of the scandal. Dhoni has been always known for speaking out his mind but he decided to evade questions since the scandal is under police investigations.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will be setting up a commission to probe Gurunath’s role in spot-fixingThe spot fixing scandal came to light with the arrest of three Rajasthan Royals cricketers – Ankeet Chavan, Ajit Chandila and former India pacer Sreesanth.
