Dalai Lama Visits Monastery, Attends Prayer

On fourth day of his visit to Tawang, Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama on Wednesday attended a prayer meeting at the Urgelling monastery on the fourth day of his visit here.

At the monastery, the Dalai Lama, who were welcome by nearly one hundred monks present there, showered his blessings on them.

Besides, the spiritual leader went around ‘thangkas’ (Tibetan paintings) inside the monastery.

The Dalai Lama arrived in Tawang on Sunday on a four-day visit to Arunachal Pradesh after a gap of six years. His visit also marks 50 years of his escape from Tibet after a failed uprising against the Chinese rule there.
