Curfew Relaxed in Bareilly, Vehicles Yet Not Allowed on Roads

Curfew has been relaxed in all five police station areas of Bareilly with no new incident of violence coming to the fore, reported PTI.

“Curfew has been relaxed in five police areas – Prem Nagar, Qila, Baradari, Kotwali and Subhash Nagar – for four hours, from 10 am to 2 pm, this morning and people have been allowed to come out of their houses after 13 days,” report quoted unnamed official sources as saying.

The decision to relax the curfew was taken last night by the district administration after it took stock of the situation, report said.

Nevertheless, administration decided not to permit vehicles on city roads as a preventive measure, said report.

“Only pedestrians, cycles and rickshaws have been allowed to move in the city,” report said quoted sources as saying.

Also, only grocery and ration shops are allowed, as per direction of the administration, to open during the relaxation in the curfew, report said.

“The administration has allowed medical stores to open in case of emergency,” report quoted sources as saying.
