Corruption is the biggest issue and unacceptable: Rahul Gandhi

New Delhi: Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Saturday termed corruption as the biggest issue that was ‘bleeding people’ and said the UPA government had passed the Lokpal Bill to fight it.
Speaking at the FICCI meet, a clean-shaven and business-like Gandhi said: “The biggest issue is corruption. It is bleeding people. It is unacceptable.”
“I also got to learn a lesson. I learnt it is not polite to ask for ordinances to be torn and thrown away in dustbin,” Rahul Gandhi added while addressing the function.

Gandhi had faced opposition heat when he publicly criticised an ordinance that shielded convicted lawmakers. The ordinance was passed by the cabinet, headed by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

After Gandhi spoke against the ordinance, the cabinet withdrew the controversial ordinance.
