Corpse Sale off A Lapse but Not Crime: Rajasthan Govt

In the case sale of 15 corpses by police to medical colleges without notification, Rajasthan government has admitted irregularities committed in disposal of bodies but doesn’t believe that it was a ‘criminal’ act, said media reports.

According to a news CNN-IBN report, state health minister Shanti Kumar Dhariwal told Assemlby two days ago that there have been irregularities but surprisingly added that no crime has been committed.

In the meanwhile, investigating officials following the case are quizzing the complainant Rajkumar Soni whose RTI application exposed the scam, reports said.

Soni, however, said that he had no faith in police which had been sitting on the case and harassing him for nine months and has insisted on CBI inquiry into the case, said reports.
.
“The Ganganagar police is involved in the scam so I want a probe by higher authorities or the CBI,” Soni was quoted as saying.

Soni lost his 19-year-old son in 2009 and alleged that his dead body was sold by Ganganagar police.

He filed an RTI and exposed what could be a huge racket of selling unidentified bodies, run by personnel belonging to Rajasthan Police.
