Controversy over My Presence at Sea Link Inaugural Function ‘Manufactured’: Amitabh

Hindi film actor and superstar Amitabh Bachchan has said that the controversy involving his presence at an inaugural function of the second phase of the Bangra-Worli sea link has been ‘manufactured’, reported PTI.

“A fresh controversy has been rapidly manufactured on my involvement… The media has been hounding me since the event at the sea link has got over, through incessant SMSes and the electronic (media) has followed me even to the theatre where we were seeing Arshad’s film,” Bachchan wrote in a midnight post on his blog, report said.

Warsi’s film ‘Hum Tum Aur Ghost’ is scheduled for release this week.

It may be mentioned that a section of Mumbai Congress resented invitation to Bachchan for the function in which chief minister Ashok Chavan inaugurated the sea link on Wednesday.

Even Chavan indicated his unhappiness over the invite to Bachchan, a friend-turned-foe of Congress, and exclusion of some party leaders. However, NCP justified presence of the actor at a function which was organized by the PWD ministry headed by it.

Bachchan said that he would comment on the controversy later. “But of that (sic) some other time and space,” he wrote.

A section of Congress is reportedly unhappy because Bachchan is the brand ambassador of BJP-ruled Gujarat and his relationship wit the Gandhi family was strained, said reports.
